Amazon unBoxed 2026 Recap: What It Means for Your Amazon Ads
Amazon unBoxed 2026 Recap: What It Means for Your Amazon Ads
Neha Bhuchar

Amazon Ads wrapped up unBoxed 2026 in San Francisco with a clear message: shoppers now research and buy inside AI conversations, and advertisers need to show up in every one of those moments without tripling their workload.
That is the same problem we built Atom11 to solve. As a three-time Amazon Ads Partner Award winner trusted by 1,000+ brands and agencies, we went through every announcement with one question in mind: what should an Amazon seller, brand or agency actually do about this?
Here is our breakdown.
unBoxed 2026 at a Glance
Theme | Key Announcements | What This Means for You |
Conversational shopping | Branded Conversations, Sponsored Services | Your product data and positioning now need to work in a dialogue, not just a search results page. |
One buying experience | Amazon Ads Agent, Full-Funnel Campaigns, DVA+ | Sponsored ads, video, display and audio move into one place. Strategy matters more than setup. |
Creative and measurement | Generative AI creative tools, ~1,000 metrics via natural language | Faster creative and faster answers, but you still need to know which numbers matter. |
Agent-ready infrastructure | Amazon Ads MCP Server (Lite), AMC Expert Tool | AI agents will increasingly work inside your ad accounts. Clean data and guardrails are essential. |
Human judgment | Day 2 "Reimagine" sessions | AI handles the mechanics. Brand insight is your edge. |
Theme 1: Shopping Is Becoming a Conversation
Branded Conversations keep your brand in the dialogue
Shoppers are increasingly asking Alexa for Shopping to research, compare and buy. Branded Conversations lets a brand explain what makes its products different, who each product is best for and which items pair well together. Amazon's example was a skin care brand guiding a shopper from "which cleanser fits my skin" to a full daily routine.
Amazon's point was that shopping is a back-and-forth, so a brand has to stay in the conversation and not only appear at the start.
What it means for you: The brands that benefit will have strong, structured product knowledge: clear use cases, variations (parent and child ASINs), complementary products and consistent messaging across listings. If your catalog is messy, a conversational layer will expose it.
Sponsored Services extends the closed loop to local services
Sponsored Services connects shoppers with local service providers, for example installation after buying a hard-to-install product. Yelp is the anchor partner. It is most relevant for home and local services brands today, but it signals that Amazon wants to own more of the journey after the click.
Theme 2: One Buying Experience, Full-Funnel Goals
Amazon Ads Agent unifies the buying experience
Amazon Ads Agent brings together what used to be the DSP and the Ads Console, with sponsored ads, Full-Funnel Campaigns and DVA+ in one platform. It also includes a conversational AI experience, now in an expanded closed beta, that lets advertisers ask questions, get recommendations and take action.
Full-Funnel Campaigns
You set the goal, and AI selects the channel mix, creative, audiences and optimization across video, display and audio. Amazon reported that beta testers saw 67% higher long-term return on ad spend and 29% lower cost to acquire new-to-brand customers. Canine Naturals said 41% of its Full-Funnel Campaign sales came from new-to-brand customers.
DVA+
DVA+ combines display, video and audio into one objective, one budget and one campaign, with advanced settings for teams that want full control.
What it means for you: Upper-funnel advertising gets easier to start, which means more advertisers will do it. The edge goes to teams that can connect awareness spend to sponsored ads performance, inventory and organic rank. A new-to-brand customer is only valuable if the product is in stock, priced right and ranking well.
This is where being retail-aware matters. Atom11 brings advertising data together with inventory, pricing, buy box and organic rank, so you can see whether top-of-funnel spend is actually turning into sales, and pause or adjust when stock runs low.
Theme 3: AI Creative and Metrics on Demand
Generative AI creative inside Amazon Ads Agent
Advertisers can now generate display ads and video from existing product assets inside the conversational experience. Amazon said advertisers using the suite drove up to 71% more product coverage and up to 15% sales growth compared with before adoption.
Nearly 1,000 metrics, one question away
Amazon Ads Agent lets advertisers ask for top campaign drivers, new-to-brand breakdowns or Long-Term Sales trends in natural language, and returns a business review with visualizations and peer benchmarks.
What it means for you: Getting an answer is no longer the hard part. Getting the right answer is. Amazon's view covers advertising. Many sales drops come from outside ads, such as inventory, pricing, buy box loss or organic rank changes.
That is why we built the Root Cause Analyzer and Neo, our AI analyst. Neo compares time periods across 15+ ad and retail signals and tells you why sales moved, so you do not have to scroll through columns and guess.
Theme 4: Agent-Ready Infrastructure
Amazon Ads MCP Server (Lite) and the AMC Expert Tool
Amazon introduced a lighter MCP server that starts with three core tools so agents can discover and call further capabilities as needed. It also introduced the AMC Expert Tool, which turns natural-language requests into the right Amazon Marketing Cloud SQL query.
What it means for you: Agents will increasingly operate inside ad accounts. That is powerful, but it raises two questions: can you trust what the agent does, and can you see what changed?
This is the black-box problem we see with many automation tools. At Atom11:
Performance Monitor shows how every automation affected your campaigns, so you know whether it helped or hurt.
Version Control lets you save your bids and budgets before an event like Prime Day or BFCM and roll back afterward.
Atom11 MCP connects your Atom11 data to Claude so you can ask questions in plain language, with write access (making bid and budget changes directly) coming soon.
Amazon Marketing Cloud reports and audience building are available in the dashboard, with drag-and-drop filters and canned reports.

Theme 5: Human Judgment Is Still the Advantage
Day 2 of unBoxed focused on "Reimagine." The argument was that using AI only to work faster and cheaper is the starting point, not the destination. Martha Stewart and Olympian Chaunté Lowe both made the case that taste, judgment and real stories are what technology amplifies.
For Amazon advertisers, the practical translation is simple: automate the repetitive work so your team can spend time on positioning, offers, creative and category strategy.
Our Take: Three Shifts to Plan For
1. Setup is being commoditized
Campaign creation, creative production and reporting are getting automated by Amazon itself. Competitive advantage moves to what Amazon cannot see: your inventory, margins, pricing and organic rank.
2. Agents need guardrails, not blind trust
When AI agents can read and act on ad accounts, transparency becomes a buying criterion. Look for tools where you control the rules, see the results and can roll back.
3. Full-funnel only works when retail signals are connected
More ad formats mean more ways to spend. Without inventory, buy box and rank context, it is easy to buy awareness for products that cannot convert.
What to Do in the Next 30 Days
Audit your catalog. Clean up parent/child ASIN structures, titles and A+ content so they work in conversational shopping.
Map your funnel. Decide which products deserve upper-funnel investment based on stock, margin and rank, not just ACoS.
Set your automation rules. Define inventory-based pauses, dayparting and bid rules before agents or AI features change things for you.
Save a version. Before Q4, save your bids and budgets so you can restore them after BFCM.
Build your measurement stack. Combine ads data with retail data so you can explain every sales swing, not only ad performance.
Explore AMC. Use audiences and reports to understand customers beyond last-click.
